William V. Coscolluela
About
William V. Coscolluela, known as Willy, is a Filipino architect regarded as one of the pillars of the country's commercial architecture. He earned his architecture degree from Mapua in 1957 and received his professional license in 1958, having worked as an assistant to Cesar Concio, then dean of the School of Architecture.
In 1957 he founded W.V. Coscolluela & Associates, which grew from private residences into one of the Philippines' most prominent architectural practices, with a portfolio of corporate and mixed use landmarks in Metro Manila and beyond. Over a career spanning more than five decades, his firm's towers have become fixtures of the Makati and Ortigas skylines.
Projects bearing the firm's stamp include the Ayala Twin Towers, RCBC Plaza, the Philamlife Tower, the JG Summit Center, and the LEED certified Zuellig Building. RCBC Plaza was carried out with the international firm Skidmore, Owings and Merrill. The practice continues today, with Coscolluela's sons Gary and Gil serving as senior partners.
