BAAD Studio

BAAD Studio, short for Benjamin Annabelle Arch Design, is an architecture practice based in Muntinlupa City, Metro Manila. It was founded in 2010 by the married architects Benjee Mendoza and An Bermejo, who built the firm around a context-driven idea of tropical design that reads the climate, culture, and physical realities of each site before form is set.

That philosophy is clearest in the studio's houses. For a residence in Antipolo, the team wrapped a U-shaped, 570-square-meter home around an existing tree on the lot, leaning on passive cooling, natural light, and earthquake-resistant detailing to keep the building in step with its surroundings. Mendoza has described the process as arriving at the design organically, letting the site drive both exterior and interior.

The practice extends into commercial, hospitality, and institutional work, but single-family homes remain central. Projects such as the Mendoza Farmhouse in Alfonso, Cavite show the studio's interest in outdoor living and a working relationship between house and land.
