What they do
Emmanuel A. Miñana Architects (EAMA) is a Manila-based practice working across residential and commercial architecture, interiors, furniture and conceptual landscape design, with a built portfolio that reaches beyond the Philippines to Bali, Hong Kong, Lake Como and Riyadh.
The firm was founded in 1990. Its design principal, Emmanuel A. Miñana, was born in Cebu City in 1961 and earned his architecture degree from the University of the Philippines in 1984.
Its best-known project is Villa Marina in Cabuyao, Laguna, the Tantoco residence, which Miñana frames as a "neo bahay na bato," a contemporary take on the Spanish-colonial stone house. Villa Marina was shortlisted at the World Architecture Festival in 2014, the first Filipino-architect project shortlisted there, and Miñana later received the NCCA's Haligi ng Dangal citation for architecture in 2018.
