What they do
TJSO Architects is a Manila-based firm founded by architect T. Jordan Ong, working in a refined modern idiom across residential, commercial and hospitality projects. Ong frames the practice around material honesty: "I prioritize honesty in material selection for my projects," paired with cost efficiency and practicality.
Its signature project is the Yu House in Quezon City, a three-storey single-family home with a basement that blends modern and tropical architecture for the local climate. Passive cooling drives the design: recessed windows, wooden slats, ledges and balconies cut sun and rain, while open planning and generous ceiling heights keep air moving. Completed in 2016, it helped place TJSO second on Architizer Journal's list of the ten best architecture and design firms in the Philippines.
